Finding the way together
Practise polite questions and clear directions in English.

01
Take a closer look
Good directions start from a known location. Short steps and landmarks help more than many instructions at once. Follow-up questions check whether the explanation was understood.
02
Now try it
- Draw a simple map with a school, park and library. Label it in English.
- Act out a conversation: “Excuse me, how do I get to the library?” Use “turn left”, “go straight on” and a follow-up question.

Think it through
How can you politely ask for directions?
See a suggested answer
For example: “Excuse me, could you tell me how to get to the library, please?” Several polite expressions are possible.
